Parameter importance panel empty in created report

Hi,

I completed about 40 hyperparameter tuning runs with Ray Tune, all beautifully logged-in W&B. I wanted to add the parameter importance panel but it does not load any graphs even though I selected all these runs as instructed.

All I get is this empty panel

What I am doing wrong?

I’m glad you like our product so far. Can you please share with me the version of wandb you’re running and also a link to the run you’re experiencing this problem. Since this is a public forum, you can send the run page link to support@wandb.com.

Hi again,

I see the issue you are running into. When I tried to recreate it however, I’m not running into the same problem. Did you use the same way as shown in the docs (https://docs.wandb.ai/ref/app/features/panels/parameter-importance)?

Yes, I did. Here I have four runs and I clicked on + at the top right (below Create report), selected “parameter importance” and got this:

Ok, figured it out. I had to ungroup runs first - which was default. Now it works. Perhaps you can add this detail to documentation. Screen Shot 2021-10-20 at 5.56.57 PM.png
