Grouping graph settings: standard deviation shade option not shown

I’m following the documentation here: Group runs into experiments | Weights & Biases Documentation
The docs show that when grouping runs in the UI, for the range you can select min/max, std dev, std err etc.
It is supposed to look like this:

However, when I group some runs I only see the following options, missing the std dev option. So right now the shaded area indicates the min/max values of the grouped metric, but I would like it to indicate the std dev of the metric. The line indicates the mean which is what I want.

Even when I enable the Runs toggle in the grouping tab I don’t see the std dev option

Also in the legend, when I try to use any of ${stddev}, ${min}, ${max} to show as tooltip, they only display as -.

I would like to be able have the shaded area indicate the standard deviation of the metric. I also want to be able to display the standard deviation at a certain epoch in the tooltip when hovering over the chart.

How can I fix these problems? I’ve tried a bunch of different way and am lost, it can’t be this hard to set this up.

Solved … switch from Full Fidelity to Random Sampling in the Point aggregation method setting, then it shows up. Found the solution here: Grouping runs

This was very frustrating to figure out, maybe you can improve the UX around this.
Or at least mention this behavior in the docs, they do not mention you have to switch to random sampling for these options to show up Grouping graph settings: standard deviation shade option not shown
