# Wandb login hangs

Just downloaded wandb and tried login the first time using wandb login. However, the program hangs with no response.

hey @markusmak12 - few questions & troubleshooting suggestions:

- are you running wandb on your local machine or utilizing our public cloud platform?
- Via the CLI could you run `rm ~/.netrc` (This will remove and refreshes login credentials and ask you to login again)

- After this, could you try running `wandb login --relogin --host=https://api.wandb.ai` or whichever url you are using depending on whether you are running this locally
