# So, what’s the Fastbook Reading Group? Each session is approximately 90 minutes, although it depends on the week. ## Are these sessions recorded? Yep! No prior deep learning knowledge is assumed. ## What is fastbook? fastbook is an introduction to deep learning, [fastai](https://docs.fast.ai/), and [PyTorch](https://pytorch.org/). It’s also the Jupyter Notebook version of “[Deep Learning for Coders with Fastai and PyTorch](https://www.amazon.com/Deep-Learning-Coders-fastai-PyTorch/dp/1492045527)” by Jeremy Howard and Sylvain Gugger, which closely complements the popular “[Practical Deep Learning for Coders](https://course.fast.ai/)” course by fastai. Through fastbook, you’ll dive progressively deeper into deep learning theory and gain a complete understanding of the algorithms behind the scenes. ---
